As a yogi/
saddhu/wandering ascetic through South India, one of my gurus,
Siddhar Rajaswamy guided me to Mahalinga Malai, an ancient
spiritual center of enlightened Beings, the Siddhars located
above the Sathurgiri mountains of South India. Those were days
of intense seeking to connect, rather re-connect to the Masters
of Light, the Siddhars.
Siddhar Sundaranathar
(means, the Handsome Being of Light), one of the several Sages
who lived in Mahalingamalai, had been meditating in this
sacred place for several years. (Siddhar Sages are said to have
transcended the time dimensions and the length in time spent
meditating is unimaginable to most of us).
Climbing above to the
mountain to the realms of sacred grounds where the
enlightened masters had meditated in seclusion from civilization, my first
experience on reaching the mountain shrine was the coldness of the weather and combined with the
excitement with of homecoming.
As guided by my guru to
have dip in the cold mountain stream as baptism, the coldness
vanished and instead, there was a radiant warm glow through the
body.
After a profoundly deep
and intense meditation in the shrine where a continuous prayer
was offered in sanctum sanctorum for hundreds of years, there
was a calm wonderful presence that related to my breath in a
tranquil state as though the "I" in me was the Presence.
It was the
Presence of Siddhar Sundaranathar, the Being of Light. His
Presence was a primal state of joy, where breath is
forgotten in the womb like expansive void that throbs as the
One.
Painting Siddhar
Sundaranathar has been through the process of invoking His
Presence through the meditative mind that has transcended time
and space to be That Presence. The process of painting Him was a
magical celebration of his Presence to enable all to experience
the ancient meditative energies that are meant to be shared.

Sundaranathar is the last painting done for this time period by
"me". Siddhar Sundaranathar now adorns the cover of our
debut CD Cave of the Siddhars. This CD
calibrated utilizing kinesiology scales has broken the known
